Plumas County schedules furlough days

Furloughs begin for some departments Monday, Nov. 14. The auditor’s office, human resources and the treasurer-tax collector will all be closed Monday.

Supervisors to consider draft General Plan Tuesday

County supervisors will consider a draft General Plan, recommended by the planning commission, at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The draft plan is available for viewing on the planning department’s website. Visit countyofplumas.com, click on Planning Department in the drop-down menu County Departments G – Z, and then click on General Plan.

Temporary road closures in Meadow Valley

Spanish Ranch Road at Spanish Creek in Meadow Valley will be closed from 8 am to 5 pm on November 16, 17 and 18. The roadway is being closed to enable a rig to drill borings for the Spanish Ranch Bridge Replacement project.

Forest Service burning slash piles north of Chester

The Almanor Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is burning slash piles north of Chester today. These "grapple piles" are made with heavy equipment and tend to be larger than hand piles and typically produce more smoke. Smoke may be visible in the Almanor Basin.
