Almanor Art Show re-invests in local culture

Confused about which arts and crafts show this to attend this summer? Make sure you attend the 41st Almanor Art Show Aug. 7-8 on the Collins Pine lawn on Highway 36, in Chester.

The fine arts and crafts show features the work of professional artists from Northern California, Oregon and Nevada, with dozens of booths brimming with original, artful, interesting and sometimes unusual merchandise will. Admission to the show is free and hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday.

The Plumas County Board of Supervisors violated the Brown Act Tuesday, July 13, by holding what amounted to an unscheduled meeting on a topic that would look relatively significant if placed on an agenda.

The Brown Act is a set of California laws meant to ensure that government decision-making is transparent.

To introduce Feather River College to the Quincy community and businesses, the first Feather River College Night will take place Thursday, August 26, from 4 - 8 p.m. The event is a collaboration of Quincy merchants and FRC SIFE to welcome new and returning students into the community and bring awareness of products, services and resources offered locally.
