Shotguns stolen during break-in at gun club

  The Plumas County Sheriff is asking anyone with information about a recent break-in and theft at the Quincy Sport Shooting Association to call 283-6363.

  According to information provided by Investigations Sergeant Steve Peay and the gun club, someone stole four guns in the late evening of Oct. 19, or early on Oct. 20.

Strike averted at Collins Pine Mill

  “We are now back to just another day at work with no further action necessary at this time,” Local 3074 representative Mike Wood said Oct. 23.

  The scenario could have been very different had the union members not voted to accept the Collins Pine Company’s last and final proposal presented to them Oct. 22.

School spirit spreads throughout Chester

  In small towns like Chester, it is easy to feel the rush of excitement emanating off students as they scurry about during spirit week.

  Between the Chester High School parade through Main Street, dress up days, powderpuff volleyball and football games, pep rally in the Chester Park, and homecoming game and crowning, school spirit was demonstrated all over town, encouraging community members to join in the hullabaloo.

Greenville residents arrested on drug charges

  Two Greenville residents were arrested on drug charges after authorities found 30 pounds of marijuana in their home Thursday, Oct. 18.

  Jesse Lee Gaulden, 29, and Jennifer Angel, 25, both face four felony charges after the drugs were discovered by the Plumas County sheriff.
