Local power is restored the moment this fuse (see photos inside story) at the corner of 1st Street and Highway 70 is replaced by Pacific Gas and Electric Co. worker Kevin Moore. Residents heard a loud “boom” at 1:24 p.m. Monday when the fuse blew.

Taylor Lake up for trade

Taylor Lake, above the Genesee Valley, is among more then 1,700 acres of private California lands proposed for trade to the U.S. Forest Service in exchange for 20.6 acres of federal land in the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area.
