Taste of Plumas tickets disappearing fast

 Delicious delights, lovingly prepared and thoughtfully presented - that pretty much sums up the spirit of the Taste of Plumas April 10, the first and our only countywide restaurant tasting. Seats are still available, but tickets are going fast.

Presale ticket sales end Friday, April 2. General admission is $35 and includes one souvenir wine glass and the opportunity to savor samplings from more than 25 culinary establishments and wineries. General admission tickets are available at Quincy Natural Foods.

 

Schools open Thursday and on schedule

3/25/2010 - 6:30 a.m.

All schools in the Plumas Unified School District are open Thursday and starting on schedule, the only chain requirement at this time is in the town of Chester.

Sinkhole at Kinder Avenue and Greenville Wolf Creek Road has county road and community services district employees baffled today, Friday, March 19. Although they have not yet found the cause, road crew foreman John Dobrinen is sure they will have Kinder open again by nightfall. For more information, see next week's Indian Valley Record.

 

Westwood woman reported missing

Friends and family are trying to locate a Westwood woman who was reported missing Tuesday, March 16.

The woman, Kristen Payne, 36, is 5'6" tall with green eyes and red hair past the shoulders. She has a tattoo of a Persian cat on her left shoulder and another tattoo, of an eagle, on her right leg.
