CHP civil trial to resume Monday
A civil trial pitting a Quincy woman against the California Highway Patrol is scheduled to resume Monday morning, June 18.
The jury trial, at Plumas County Superior Court in Quincy, began Wednesday, June 13. It is expected to last until at least Tuesday, June 19.

Opening statements are scheduled to begin at 8:30 Wednesday morning, June 13, in a civil trial pitting a Quincy woman against the California Highway Patrol.
The jury trial is taking place at Plumas County Superior Court in Quincy.

Chester man arrested on charges of sexual assault against a minor
A 34-year-old Chester man is being held on $100,000 bail in the Plumas County Jail after being arrested on multiple sex-related charges, including sexual assault of a child under the age of 14.
Robert Wilson Neal Jr. was arrested Monday at 10:15 p.m. at a Chester residence by sheriff’s deputies.

Man jailed on drug charges after traffic stop
An Oroville man is in the Plumas County Jail after being arrested on multiple drug charges following a Thursday, June 7, traffic stop.
Robert Nemen Ridge Jr., 53, was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, child endangerment and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Pioneer Days in Taylorsville

A celebration of pioneer heritage is planned Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to dusk, and will include a barbecue rib cook-off, the Quincy Model A’s, displays of quilts, goat milking and much more.
The day will actually begin at 7 a.m., for many, with biscuits and gravy served up at the Taylorsville Fire Station on Nelson Street by the volunteers of Indian Valley Fire and Rescue.
