QHS senior organizes Relay benefit

For his senior project, Quincy High senior Ethan Skemp is organizing a Relay for Life benefit dinner Sunday, Feb. 26. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. in the Mineral Building at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds.

Aspiring chef Tony Schafer will make dinner and Kayla Westman is making dessert.

Convicted burglar Loretz captured

A convicted burglar who has been on the run since November was captured in Los Angeles County on Wednesday night.

Former Graeagle resident Rebecca Victoria Loretz, 38, was apprehended by members of the United States Marshal’s Office working in close contact with the Plumas County Sheriff and District Attorney.

CHP captures wanted man

The California Highway Patrol apprehended a man who was wanted in Lassen County last week.

On Friday night, Feb. 17, CHP officer Bryan Goings located a vehicle that contained Portola resident Michael Nunes who had a warrant for his arrest.
