Lassen Municipal Utility District is currently investigating an incident, which occurred late Tuesday, afternoon March 30, involving two unidentified teens who made contact with high voltage power lines in the Leavitt Lake Subdivision area.
At a recent meeting, Plumas’ Quincy Library Group (QLG) Forester Frank Stewart told the County Board of Supervisors that Forest Service Regional Forester Randy Moore wants to increase the “pace and scale” of QLG-type projects on public lands from 140,000 acres per year to a half-million acres per year.
“It’s a major commitment but they need to put their money where their mouth is on this issue,” he added.

One of the smallest fundraising relays for the American Cancer Society (ACS), Plumas County has become the highest producing per capita event in the nation and one of the most cost effective, according to Pandora Valle, the 2011 event coordinator.
Plumas Bancorp, the parent company of Plumas Bank, has been given a Consent Order issued by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the California Department of Financial Institutions.
The bank’s interim president and CEO, Andrew J. Ryback, said this Order was the result of a regulatory examination covering the 12-month period ending June 30, 2010.
