  • On trial: The trial for a Quincy man accused of inflicting fatal injuries on a toddler in 2013 is scheduled to begin March 12.
  • Moving on: Just days after Plumas District Hospital announced that it couldn’t take over Quincy Nursing & Rehabilitation, several residents of the facility have found new homes.

LAFCo orders service district boards to mediate

Board members of Quincy’s two water service districts were ordered to set aside their differences and talk about consolidating.

That was the directive from the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) board of directors Monday, Nov. 14.

School district, sheriff issue predator alert

The Plumas County Office of Education and the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office are working together to alert parents about a possible predator.

The sheriff’s office notified the school district Monday, Nov. 14, of an incident in Portola over the weekend.

Supervisors to consider draft General Plan Tuesday

County supervisors will consider a draft General Plan, recommended by the planning commission, at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The draft plan is available for viewing on the planning department’s website. Visit countyofplumas.com, click on Planning Department in the drop-down menu County Departments G – Z, and then click on General Plan.

Temporary road closures in Meadow Valley

Spanish Ranch Road at Spanish Creek in Meadow Valley will be closed from 8 am to 5 pm on November 16, 17 and 18. The roadway is being closed to enable a rig to drill borings for the Spanish Ranch Bridge Replacement project.
