Last week’s series of storms brought a lot of moisture to the area and completely saturated the ground, causing ponds where there was once dry ground and threats of flooding to those near rivers and lakes.

Conservation projects raise concern over water rights

At a meeting Tuesday, March 8, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to create a resolution to ensure water rights were properly addressed and protected in all future Coordinated Resource Management (CRM) group projects.

Supervisors order restart of A&D services

At a meeting Tuesday, March 15, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors (BOS) directed staff to prepare a proposal to begin providing alcohol and drug (A&D) services again in fiscal year 2011-12, ending a 30-month gap in state-funded aid.

Electricity restored to Meadow Valley

Power has been restored to Meadow Valley.

6:30 a.m.
Meadow Valley has been without power for nearly 40 hours as PG&E workers attempt to get a replacement power pole across the unseasonably high flow of Spanish Creek in the Devil's Elbow/Lover's Leap area during storm conditions. The company estimates that power will be returned or a new update will be provided by 10 p.m. tonight.
