Home Depot pitches in for landscaping community center
Indian Valley Recreation and Parks District recently received a $2,500 "Building Healthy Communities" grant from the Home Depot Foundation.
Grant funds will be used to purchase the materials and supplies needed to landscape the areas around the Nuksa Te' Playground and the Indian Valley Community Center in Greenville.

County forms committee to consider FRC request
The Board of Supervisors approved the formation of an ad hoc committee at their Tuesday, Sep. 14, meeting to address Feather River College's request for a "temporary transfer" of up to $5 million from the county.

Feather River College seeking cash flow help
Feather River College's Sept. 16 board meeting continued to focus on cash flow problems caused by the state of California's failure to pass a budget.
Chief Financial Officer Jim Scoubes asked the board to authorize him to secure a loan from Umpqua Bank. That request followed on the board's loan request to Plumas County for nearly $5 million as an advance on the college's tax revenue.
