The Feather River College rodeo team will once again kick up some dirt in the horse arena at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy.
Due to budget restraints, FRC is holding two rodeos this upcoming weekend: one Friday, Oct. 5, and the other Saturday, Oct. 6. Due to the rise of prices, it is much more economically feasible for the college to squeeze two rodeos into one weekend.
The regional rodeo will bring college rodeo teams from all over northern California and Nevada to Plumas County.
The double header starts at 5 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. With two rodeos back to back, the pace will be rather fast and lots of action will be packed into a short bit of time.
The rodeo team will throw its annual “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” fundraiser Friday night. T-shirts, bracelets, hats and other goods will all be for sale. Proceeds from the sales go to the Quincy Breast Cancer Support Group. Donations are accepted as well.
Admission into the rodeo is free. Spectators are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness.
Friday night, after the rodeo finishes, Chad Bushnell will perform his catchy country songs in the Tulsa Scott building on the fairgrounds.
