Runners wishing to burn off some calories before Thanksgiving dinners can participate in the fourth annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 22.
The annual run/walk event starts at the bike path trail next to Feather River College’s soccer field off Golden Eagle Avenue.
The five-kilometer course follows the bike path and extends onto the airport road. The course turns around and ends at the start line.
The trot is the largest fundraiser for the nonprofit Tru Community, out of Quincy. Tru Community raises funds to help families in need of medical attention.
Racing registration takes place at 8:15 a.m. and runners take off at 9:30 a.m. Registration costs $20.
The course is available for all speeds and several plan to walk the course. Participants are encouraged to bring their dogs.
For those planning on attending the event, but not participating in it, hot chocolate and coffee will be provided.
Winners will be presented with pies and bottles of wine as prizes, perfectly fitting in with the Thanksgiving theme.
