Heavy night and morning fogs, far more persistent this winter than is usually the case, continue to protect Plumas County residents from the sub-zero temperatures that were recorded at the same time last year.
Damage done by last months flood to bridges in Plumas County’s road system is a charge against the county’s unappropriated reserve fund, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors ruled last week. It is expected that $15,000 will be required to pay for the flood damage and the unappropriated reserve fund is now $24,000.
50 YEARS AGO..........1963
Plumas County’s first baby of the year 1963 arrived in Chester on New Years Day. Gary Dale Clark was born to parents Mr. and Mrs. John Clark, weighing 6 pounds, 1 ounce and arrived at 5:02 a.m.
25 YEARS AGO..........1988
The first storm of 1988 brought warm temperatures. Snow gave way to rain throughout Plumas County and resulted in slushy conditions when the rain mixed with the first fallen snow.
10 YEARS AGO..........2003
Emily Rose Chambers, Plumas County’s first baby of 2003, was born at Plumas District Hospital in Quincy at 4:38 a.m. to parents Kathleen and Michael Chambers.
Plumas County Board of Supervisor B.J. Pearson was sworn in this week as chairman of the Plumas County Board of Supervisors.
