Public works needs more space

The Plumas County Department of Public Works will be accepting bids until March 22 for the construction of a two-story addition to the mechanic’s shop at its East Quincy maintenance yard.

The new addition will consist of an office on the first floor, parts storage on the second floor and the remodel of an existing restroom to meet current ADA standards, along with exterior walkways and parking space reconstruction.

The new 262-square-foot first-floor office will replace an existing smaller office inside the shop building, and the second-floor storage area will provide almost 300 square feet of needed parts storage.

Minor alterations to the existing steel shop building will be required to accommodate the new addition.

Public works personnel will perform some site work preparation, but a licensed contractor will complete the building-related work.

The department has budgeted $90,000 for this project and is hoping that bids will come in that will allow construction this year.

the ADA standards are not required
just put up a no public restroom sign,like everyone else.
