  Proudly sponsored by Feather River College Enactus, the first community blooddrive of the year will be held by United Blood Services at theChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LDS church islocated on the corner of Bellamy Lane and Bucks Lake Roadacross from Plumas District Hospital.

    Blood donations will be accepted from noon until 6 p.m.

  Quincy local Shawna Marie Lindsey has been a regular donorfor years; in fact, last year alone she donated blood anextraordinary four times.

  An employee in FRC’s payroll department, Lindsey always makestime to donate. She assures prospective donors that donating is “not painful” and that the process is “fairly simple.”

    When asked why she’s so motivated to donate regularly, sheresponded, “Knowing that I am helping to save others’ lives.”

  Minors 16 years and older are also encouraged to donate, thoughthey must have parental permission first. The form is availablefrom Wright.

  Donors should bring a picture ID, some food in their stomachs anda smile on their faces! After donating, they will be treated todecadent homemade cookies prepared by Quincy locals and collegestudents.
