Chips the bobcat continues to attract the limelight with news of her recent release.

Found by a Mad River Hand Crew firefighter when she was just four weeks old, the kitten was initially taken to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care for medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Once stable, Chips was transferred to Sierra Wildlife Rescue in Placerville, where she was joined by another rescued bobcat and learned to be wild again.

According to KRCRTV, after proving her natural instincts were intact by growling and snarling at humans, Chips was deemed ready for release.

Now eight months old, she was taken to Humboldt County on Friday, April 19 and released into bobcat territory with her less famous den mate, Sierra.
