Bids for fuels reduction NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the Clerk of the City Council of the City of Portola, California, in the office of the Clerk, City Hall, Portola, California, up to 10:00 a.m. on July 3rd, 2013 for HAZARDOUS FUELS REDUCTION ON LAND OWNED AND MANAGED BY CITY OF PORTOLA, LOCATED NEAR WILLOW SPRINGS, in accordance with Plans and Specifications on file for said Work in the office of the City Clerk, at which time they will be publicly opened and read at the same address. General work description: Hazardous Fuels Reduction will occur on approximately 168 acres of forested land owned by the City of Portola located off of USFS road 24N12 in the Plumas National Forest. The project will target removal, modification and rearrangement of concentrated surface ladder fuels such as brush and suppressed trees. Treatment will utilized biomass removal/thinning from below, mechanical mastication, and hand thinning methods only.
