Almanor Little League All-Stars team wins

  Last weekend, the best of Plumas County’s Little League minor girls faced off in a double elimination tournament that lasted three games. The Almanor All-Stars ended up walking away with the victory against the Feather River All-Stars on June 30.

  The Almanor All-Stars team was made up of the best Little League players from Chester and Westwood. The Feather River All-Stars was a combination of players from Quincy, Portola and Loyalton.

  Game one of the tournament took place in Quincy. The visiting Almanor All-Stars defeated the home team 13-2 with a game ending early.

  The next day the Almanor All-Stars hosted the game in Chester. Once again the visiting team prevailed. The Feather River All-Stars got revenge with an 11-9 victory.

  The final elimination game was held in Quincy. The game was hard-fought and lasted six innings. The Almanor All-Stars eventually won 8-7.
