  With her loving family at her side, Quincy resident Marilyn Lois Crowe peacefully passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 2013, at Enloe Medical Center located in Chico.

  Born Feb. 28, 1937, in Belle Fouche, S.D., to Colorado natives Frank and Marie (Angluld) Kovarik, as a young child Marilyn moved with her family to San Francisco where she graduated from Lincoln High School as a member of the Class of 1956.

  Shortly out of high school, she married the love of her life Richard Crowe on Feb. 11, 1956, in San Francisco. To this union two sons and three daughters were born. In 1965, the family settled in Pacifica.

  Marilyn had been employed as Heidelberg West’s bookkeeper, a field she worked in for over thirty years.

  Following her husband’s passing in 1991, Marilyn relocated to the Quincy where she worked as a volunteer for the Plumas County Sheriff’s Department. She is a longtime member of the Federated Republican Women’s Association where she served as their president. She enjoyed all types of card games and was a member of the Quincy Ladies Bridge Club. Marilyn had a special place in her heart for animals especially her grand dogs. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe.

  In passing she leaves her son David Crowe and his wife Terri, of Quincy; daughters Becky Convery and her husband Michael, of Emerald Hills, Janet Rosenthal and her husband Steven, of San Jose, Diane Crowe and her husband Ron Fisher, of Camptonville, along with her precious seven grandchildren.

  She joins her husband Richard, son Daniel, two sisters and a brother in their eternal home.

  William Ray Dowing, 62, of Greenville, died July 27, 2013, at Enloe Hospital in Chico, from heart problems.

  He was born Oct. 9, 1950, in Wheatland.

  He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Dowing; Kaylee Dowing, Christina Dowing, Johnny Dowing, Matthew Smith, Rosie Smith and Richard Dowing.
