Quincy downtown road paving postponed

Feather Publishing
Updated 9/24/2013

According to Caltrans, the weather has prevented work on the project beginning on Tuesday as initially anticipated.  The new plan as of today, is to begin paving operations next Monday, during the daytime hours and pave through Friday.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 2, along with contractor Hat Creek Construction & Materials, Inc., from Burney, CA, will begin paving operations on a nine mile stretch of State Route 70/89 on Tuesday, September, 24, 2013 during the day.

Work in the downtown area that was scheduled during nighttime hours, must now be performed during daylight hours due to the type of materials being used and the current temperatures in Quincy. Motorists are likely to encounter congestion and minor delays.

Caltrans has set up a hotline (530) 225-3452. It can be accessed 24 hours a day and will provide updates about current projects, including the Quincy Microsurfacing Project. You can also find more information by visiting www.caltrans2.info

Caltrans would like to remind the traveling public to please move over if safe or slow down when they see Caltrans vehicles flashing warning lights along the side of the highways, and to Slow for the Cone Zone.
