Notice of Decision
As the Responsible Official, District Ranger Deb Bumpus signed a Decision Memo on September 20, 2013, approving the PJ-5 Abandoned Mine Closure project. This project will allow closure of the PJ-5 mine adit to provide for public safety near the communities of Clio and Portola.  A bat gate will be installed across the opening to allow for ingress and egress of existing bat species.  
The project is located entirely within the Beckwourth Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest. It is approximately two air miles southeast of Clio, California in T22N; R13E; Section 32, MDBM.
