The Plumas County Fire Safe Council members extend their best wishes to all for a safe and healthy holiday season and cordially invite the public to their monthly meeting Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Plumas County Planning & Building Services office, from 9 to 11 a.m.The office is located at 555 Main St. in Quincy.
At the meeting the council will be discussing progress on wildfire mitigation grants that provide for wildfire education, defensible space assistance, hazardous fuel reduction and implementation of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The council continues to seek communities interested in becoming recognized by Firewise USA or in developing a hazardous fuel reduction project to increase safety from eventual wildfires.
The Plumas County Fire Safe Council and Plumas Corp. are also seeking proposals from independent contractors such as registered professional foresters or people with wildland fire mitigation planning experience, or similar experience, to effectively perform as the council’s coordinator.
