The Plumas County Sheriff’s Employees Association Needy Children’s Christmas Program is firmly planted in Lake Almanor thanks to coordinator Laura Kincaid and the merchants who have agreed to host donation boxes.
However, with just a few days remaining until the Dec. 17 deadline for collecting toys, Kincaid said the donations are “very low.”
“I would like the community to know that any donation helps,” she said. “And the donations all stay within the community.”
The donation locations in the Lake Almanor area are: ABC Center, Collins Pine office, CPUD office, Holiday Market, Plumas Bank, US Bank, Never Neverland Preschool, Seneca Walk in Clinic, Sage Creek Insurance, Dollar General, Lassen Gift Company, and B&B Booksellers.
People can donate the new, unwrapped toys anytime between now and Dec. 17.
This distribution date for the families who have applied is Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Chester Courthouse. This is the time that families who have applied can pick up their toys.
