Researchers capture hawk

HawkRelease

Kara Rockett-Arsenault releases a rough-legged hawk to the wild after a transmitter was attached to the bird of prey Jan. 17 in Quincy. Members of the Plumas Audubon Society were on hand to watch biologists from Kidd Biological out of Perris, Calif., conduct their research. The transmitter will track the location and migration of the bird for five years. For a complete story and information found from the research, see next week’s Sports and Recreation section.
