    Mark this on your calendar: Tuesday, Aug. 4, from noon to 6 p.m., Kory and Stacey Felker at Plumas Physical Therapy in Quincy are having a Community Appreciation Day. They will offer complimentary physical assessments by appointment so you don’t have to wait to see a therapist. They will also have a drawing for some great prizes and provide a tasty barbecue with refreshments. Here’s all they ask in return: Just bring a non-perishable food item for the C.A.N. program or make a monetary donation to them or the Booster’s Club.

    The Quincy branch of Plumas Bank is having a Customer Appreciation ‘Fiesta’ Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5:30-7:30. Besides visiting with friends and neighbors, expect lots of tasty food, refreshments and prizes.

    Proving they appreciate your business and want you to return, Ken George and his friendly staff at Pizza Factory in Quincy are giving diners a sealed envelope when they pay for their order. Next time you eat at the downtown restaurant you simply present the unopened envelope with your order and claim the prize inside. There will be one gift inside the envelope for things like a mini pizza, discount on your meal, salads, breadsticks, cookies, a $25 gift certificate and a $100 gift certificate.

    On Saturday, Aug. 1 the friendly folks at Evergreen Market in Greenville will host a “Kids Fest” from 10-2 p.m. Events, for kids ages 4-12, include cookie decorating, watermelon toss, cakewalk, face painting, coloring contest and more. There will also be lots of prizes and hot dogs for the kids.

    Mike and Cathy Simmons have moved their business, Morning Star Products, from Westwood to Chester across from Almanor Flooring on Main Street. The new location offers additional space to add a showroom to showcase their custom log cabinets and log furniture. They started making log cabinets in Montana in 1980.

    Join the fun at Treats Dog Company in Chester for ‘Yappy Hour’ Friday, Aug. 7, from 4-7 p.m. Bob and Linda Rouland will be there to demonstrate EARS, an Electronic Animal Recovery System, along with animal portrait artist Glen Hettrick. Proceeds from this charitable event benefit Lassen Animal Rescue.

    The Express Coffee Shop in East Quincy now serves prime rib dinners on Friday and Saturday nights, owner Lucio Rodriquez-Macias.

    Just a year ago, Jon Francine opened Indian Valley Pet Supply in downtown Greenville. Jon says his first year was a huge success. He carries a full line of animal feed and pet supplies for dogs, cats, birds, fish and other small animals.

    x Joanie Kielty, owner of Treats Dog Company in Chester, is celebrating her second year in business. She offers a self-serve dog wash and dog treat bakery, both have become quite popular with her customers. She has also increased awareness about health and wellness and what a difference, she says, quality, holistic food can make in a pet’s life.

    X Bruce and Susan Robinson are celebrating their 43rd anniversary as owners of Shadetree Auto Sales and Repair in East Quincy. They cater to their customers with quality used cars and trucks and the line of light-duty Mahindra tractors, dump trailers and horse trailers. Behind the sales department is an experienced automotive service and repair facility. Also at the facility are Quincy Auto Glass and Plumas Auto Diagnostics handling the smog station.   

    x Tom and Doria Hupp are marking their 17th year as proprietors of Almanor Flooring, Inc. in Chester. As a licensed flooring contractor, they sell and install a wide selection of flooring products including carpet, ceramic tile, hardwood, laminate and vinyl. They are also priority dealers for a full line of Hunter Douglas window coverings.
