Sample ballots missing info, supplemental ballots on the way

When they received their voter guides and sample ballot booklets last week, sharp-eyed voters were quick to report missing information to county election officials. Specifically, information about the U.S. Senate race was omitted.

The Plumas County Clerk-Recorder Office sprung into action and mailed out a supplemental guide by Tuesday, May 11. County clerk-recorder Kathy Williams said she expected voters to receive those by the end of the week.

“We wish to thank the voters who called this to our attention so quickly,” Williams said. “While we strive for perfection, working under such tight timeframes can cause something to be missed in proofreading, as was the case in this situation.”

She pointed out that all official ballots and vote-by-mail ballots include all the candidate races.

Williams reminds voters that if they have moved since they last voted and have not re-registered, they need to do so by May 24.

Also, those voters who have requested a ballot and not received one within one week should contact the elections office at 283-6256.

Those with any other voting questions may call that number or 283-6129.
