5/21/2010 -The Portola High School baseball team and Quincy High School softball team each reached their respective Northern Section championship matches, which will be played Saturday, May 22.
The Portola baseball team, seeded second in Division IV, will play top seeded East Nicolaus at Shasta College in Redding at 1 p.m. The Portola Tigers defeated Biggs in the semifinals to advance to the title game.
The Quincy softball team, seeded fourth in Division V, upset top-seeded Hamilton in the semifinals Thursday, May 20, by a score of 6-4. This advanced the Quincy Trojans to the championship game against second-seeded Etna, in Etna at 2 p.m.
