What could make an afternoon more enjoyable than sitting by the North Fork of the Feather River under the shade trees in the Chester Park while enjoying the drifting melodies of live music and sharing a tasty micro-brewed beer?
He said residents and guests could gain all this and more by attending the fifth annual A Few Brews and a Banjo Music Festival Saturday, June 26.
The event, 2 – 6 p.m., will feature the Mossy Creek Band and Hank and Shaidri Alrich on stage.
Accompanying those “drifting melodies” will be the “tantalizing aroma” of the Lake Almanor Elks Lodge annual tri-tip barbecue. To wash it all down: a variety of Northstate brews.
“The breweries have been so incredibly generous this year, just as they have been in past years,” Bryant said.
He said ticket holders would sample brews from Anchor Brewing, Anderson Valley, Bear Republic, Butte Creek, Feather River Fire House, Great Basin, Lost Coast, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada and many, many more.
Tickets for A Few Brews and a Banjo are sold on location, on the day of the event, traditionally held each year the last Saturday in June.
For the cost of a ticket, guests can have the pleasure of listening and dancing to free bluegrass music and take home a souvenir tasting glass.
Bryant extended special thanks, in advance, to the event volunteers: Holiday Quality Foods for beer storage and the donation of ice and to Tim O’Brien for paying for the expense of the stage sound system.
Special thanks also go out to Mark Carter of Superior Products Company of Susanville for “really coordinating the brewery donations.”
Bryant said Brews is an all-volunteer event and anyone who would like to lend a hand should call him at 259-3757.
“This is truly a great opportunity to support music and drama in our schools,” Bryant said.
The Lake Almanor Community Foundation, in partnership with Plumas Arts, sponsors the festival.
