A jury found William McConnell guilty of second-degree murder Thursday, July 1.

McConnell was also given an enhancement for using a gun in the commission of a felony.

McConnell shot Eduardo Campos to death last August on McConnell’s property in the Frenchman Lake area where both men were residents.

McConnell’s sentencing was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 19.

A more in-depth story on the trial may be found in next week’s paper.
