Hough Ranger District, T25N, R7E, sections 1 and 12; T25N, R8E, sections 5, 6, 7, 8 and 18; T26N, R8E, section 31; and T26N, R7E, section 36. On July 1, 2010, Michael A. Donald, District Ranger of the Mt. Hough Ranger District signed a Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact for the Rich Fire Recovery Project. The decision authorizes implementation of alternative A, the proposed action, which will: recover the economic value of fire-killed (dead) trees in high vegetation burn severity areas (133.9 acres); reduce the risk and spread of future wildfire within and adjacent to the Twain Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) by cutting, piling, and burning surface and ladder fuels (under 10 inches diameter at breast height (dbh)) from low vegetation burn severity and unburned areas (70.6 acres); fell, lop, and scatter trees in high vegetation burn severity areas to limit long-term fuel loading in or immediately adjacent to the Twain WUI (49.7 acres); and reestablish forest conditions (333.5 acres).
