Marlene Marie Decker
Marlene Marie Decker passed from this life to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
Marlene had been a resident of Quincy since 1976, when she and her husband, Donald Decker, bought their first house in East Quincy.
As Donald worked in the logging industry, Marlene worked as the manager and then owner of the Beacon Gas Station on the hill in Quincy for over 25 years.
When Donald died in 1999, Marlene decided to move south to be out of the snow and nearer to some of her children. She lived in Lakeside since 2001, along with her mother, Maude Knaak.
Marlene lived a loving life. She was a patient and considerate woman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Quincy, baptized there by Pastor Clyde Brandt. Marlene was a very faithful woman, wanting at the end to go to her heavenly home. Marlene leaves all of us much richer just for knowing her.
She leaves behind her mother, Maude Knaak of Lakeside; a brother, Patrick Kelly, of the Philippines; daughters Sheryl Austin of Quincy and Cindi Sullivan of Lakeside; sons Dennis Gray of San Diego, Michael Gray of Susanville, and Kelly Gray of Apple Valley; as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Marlene will be interned with her husband at the East Lawn Cemetery in Quincy at a small family service July 10.
