At this weeks Plumas County Board of Supervisors meeting $2,500 was allocated for providing two bridges crossing the North Fork of the Feather River at Twain and Grays Flat to connect those two communities with the North Fork Highway.50 YEARS AGO...1960
Meadow Valley School will not be closed according to the Plumas Unified School District board that met this week. The board has been considering the closure as the average daily attendance last year was 8.38 pupils.
30 YEARS AGO...1989
Some 100 spectators gathered in front of the courthouse last Saturday as the Masons resealed the courthouse cornerstone. The event duplicated the procedure followed in 1919 when the original was dedicated. The copper box in the northeast corner of the courthouse was opened last September on the observation of Plumas County's 125th anniversary.
10 YEARS AGO...2000
By Monday more than 17,000 acres had been consumed by fire in the Feather River Canyon. The incident started Thursday above the little community of Storrie. By Saturday the fire had spotted across the Feather River and begun to spread on the Bucks Lake area behind Rogers Camp.
