Hopper-Corral Stewardship Project

The Beckwourth Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest is preparing to offer the Hopper-Corral Stewardship Project. This is a commercial acquisition that has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. This project includes forest thinning of sawtimber and nonsawtimber on approximately 193 acres, grapple piling on approximately 48 acres, an estimated 4.3 miles of road maintenance, and, optionally, burning of machine/hand piles on an estimated 193 acres.

The project is located 5.5 miles north of the City of Portola, CA. There are two areas to the project, Corral is located on the west side of Lake Davis off FS road 24N10 and Hopper is located on the east side of Lake Davis, right of Grizzly Road/County Road 112. There will be a pre-bid meeting on August 12, 2010 at 1 pm. The meeting location will be at the corner of Lake Davis Road and Grizzly Road, which is approximately 6 miles north of Portola, CA. The Beckwourth Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest is preparing to offer the Recovery-ARRA-Thompson Aspen Stewardship Project. This project consists of 53.2 acres of conifer overstory and understory removal, 10.3 miles of road maintenance, and, optionally, 53.2 acres of grapple pile burning

The project is located entirely within the Beckwourth Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest. The project area is located approximately 4 miles southwest of Janesville, CA. It is situated in the vicinity of Clarks Peak.

There will be a pre-bid meeting on August 11, 2010 at 1 pm. The meeting will be at the intersection of the 28N01 Road and the 28N02 Road within the project area.
