Pet Art Benefits Animal Rescue

Following the style of her unique PoesyArt, Linda Gorman of Gold Mountain is venturing into custom Pet Art with a portion of proceeds going to the High Sierra Animal

Rescue in Portola. Her art designs are derived from original photographs that are enhanced and processed for printing on artist's canvas, gallery wrapped on stretcher bars, and ready to hang. Interested pet owners can upload their pet photographs at Linda's website, LLGorman.com, and commission the work.

New Real Estate Company

Mason McDuffie is now representing Plumas and Sierra Counties as an agent for Better Homes and Garden Real Estate. The company’s other experienced agents, Carol Murray, Lee Proctor, Mo Tarantino and Marlene Boggs, offer a full range of services and can still be reached at their home offices.

One smile at a time

Millions of children in developing countries are in desperate need of cleft lip and palate surgery. The families of these children — often living on less than $1 dollar a day — are too poor to ever afford to pay for surgery. Quincy businesswoman Caron Chance of Back Door Catering is following a long family tradition as a donor to Smile Train, a national organization focused only on a single problem: cleft lip and palate. Now through the holiday season, Caron will donate a portion of her catering proceeds to this charity.

In tune with the times, she has revamped her menu selections and pricing structure to make holiday parties affordable for most any type of gathering. Back Door Catering is located in Quincy inside the Mineral Building at the Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds.

The finishing touch!

Holly Patton and Jamie Winter at The Finishing Touch are thrilled to let everyone know they now carry Devoe Wonder-Pure interior paints at their Lawrence Street store in Quincy. The paint is odor free and environmentally friendly and is Greenguard Indoor Air Quality certified. Through November, they are knocking $5 off every gallon! If you haven’t been to their store lately, you’re missing out on a huge selection of household items and giftware for any room in your home.
