The boys' and girls' soccer teams have wrapped up their regular season schedules in the Feather River League and begin playoffs today, Oct. 20.
Boys
Portola earned the top seed after finishing with the best record, one game ahead of second-place Quincy.
In their two regular-season matchups, Portola defeated Quincy 3-2 Oct. 2, and the teams tied 1-1 Oct. 8.
The fourth-seeded Chester Volcanoes, who qualified for the playoffs ahead of Loyalton and Plumas Christian, will look to play spoiler against Portola in today's semifinal match.
Girls
First-place Chester received a bye and will host the championship match Wednesday, Oct. 27, against either Quincy or Portola.
The Chester Volcanoes, who are undefeated in league, are planning several things to enhance the championship match, which begins at 6 p.m. and will be played under the lights.
The Chester drum line will perform, the national anthem will be sung, the game will be announced, and Chester soccer T-shirts will be thrown into the crowd.
The semifinal match between Quincy and Portola will be played today at 2 p.m. at Quincy High School, just before the boys' playoff match.
