In the second round of volleyball playoffs Tuesday, Portola narrowly defeated East Nicolaus in five games, while Greenville and Chester were each eliminated.
Portola, seeded third in Division V, travels to Los Molinos tonight for a semifinal match. The winner will play for the section title Saturday in Red Bluff.
In Division VI, ninth-seeded Chester lost in three games at top-seeded Fall River, and Greenville went five games at home before falling to Redding Christian.
