Winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 am pst monday above 5000 feet, A winter weather advisory above 5000 feet remains in effect until 10 am pst Monday. Snow accumulations: 3 to 6 inches of new snow accumulation are expected above 5000 feet, with up to a foot above 7000 feet by Monday morning.

Elevation: Snow levels will range from 5000 to 5500 feet. They may be locally lower in heavier snow showers.
Timing: Light snowfall this evening will be followed by a period of heavy snow tonight and early Monday morning. Snow will quickly taper off to scattered snow showers Monday morning.
Locations include: Passes above 5000 feet including yuba pass, donner summit, echo summit and carson pass.
Winds: South to southwest wind gusts up to 45 mph can be expected in the advisory area.
Impacts: The combination of snow, blowing snow and reduced visibility will cause travel difficulties at times over the higher mountain passes.
