It’s a tradition: Every year the Calpine Elks hold a New Year’s Day brunch at their lodge on Highway 70 in Maybe.
The Elks prepare a grand breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, country potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fruit and beverages. Wow.
Not only is it nice to have breakfast prepared for you, it’s a pleasure to socialize with friends and neighbors.
For the Elks, it’s a fundraiser for the various service projects that they support in the community. The group wastes no time in starting up its fundraising efforts for the new year.
The brunch will begin at 9 a.m. and will be served until noon. The cost is only $8 and children under 6 eat for free.
For additional information, call 832-5785. Otherwise, just show up, with a smile and your appetite.
