Court sets aside Feather River Inn approvals

Plumas County Superior Court has ordered Plumas County to set aside its approval of the environmental impact report (EIR) and the planned development permit prepared for the Feather River Inn.

In challenging the approval, High Sierra Rural Alliance alleged, in essence, that the county played fast and loose with the definition of floodplain in and around Bonta Creek, where developers want to build 88 resort condominiums.

The court agreed, calling the information about the location of the condominiums in the floodplain “misleading, incomplete and inaccurate.”

County supervisors are scheduled to discuss the decision in closed session Tuesday, Feb. 8.

For a more complete story, see next week’s newspapers.
