Plumas Arts invites you to savor the Taste of Plumas
The fifth annual Taste of Plumas is one of the most anticipated events of the season. It will be held Saturday, April 9, at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds. The tastings begin at 5:30 p.m.
The staff at Plumas Arts reports that there are more restaurants and more wineries participating this year than ever before. The admission price remains at the 2007 and 2008 levels.
The event is one of the primary fundraisers for Plumas Arts, the region’s most active cultural programming organization. Plumas Arts brings art programs to the county schools and events and performances to local audiences; coordinates a regional cultural events calendaring system in print and online at plumasarts.org; works collaboratively with numerous local organizations, businesses and groups; hosts Words & Music in three county locations and a gallery of regional artists in Quincy; and manages the Town Hall Theatre.
The event will include samplings from all parts of Plumas. Many restaurants, caterers and food businesses are signed up and ready to go. In alphabetical order that list currently includes: Alley Cat Café, American Valley Baking, Bella Luna Catering, Bonta Street Bistro, Café Le Coq, Carol’s Café, The Drunk Brush, Feather River College Culinary, Gamboni’s Peninsula Grill, Genesee Bistro, Greenhorn Guest Ranch, The Grille at the Chalet View Lodge, Longboards Bar & Grill, Pangaea Café & Pub, Quincy Natural Foods, Southern Accent, Timatillos and Trattoria Rosa. Confirmations from several other establishments are also pending. Other culinary establishments that are interested in participating should contact Plumas Arts at 283-3402 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
“The Taste” also hosts samplings from numerous wineries and microbrew beers from around the North State and beyond. Another part of the event is a silent auction with a festive selection of food, fine art and travel.
Plumas Arts reports that the Taste of Plumas has been a sold-out event every year. Based on the fact that attendees offer rave reviews to their friends and neighbors, ticket sales are already very impressive.
The presale price of admission, $30 for members of Plumas Arts members or $35 for nonmembers, includes a souvenir wine glass and the opportunity to savor samplings from these 20-plus restaurants and culinary businesses. Non-members can become members with their benefit ticket purchase and commence their membership support and savings with this initial investment. Tickets are available at the Plumas Arts Gallery at 372 Main St. in Quincy, by credit card online at plumasarts.org or by calling Plumas Arts at 283-3402.
After April 1, if the event is not sold out, all tickets will be $40.
