Plumas County, CA

T24N, R8E, Sec. 27

Opportunity to Comment

The Mt. Hough Ranger District is seeking public input on the Meadow Valley Barracks PSW Project. The proposal is to build a barracks to house the Pacific Southwest Research station seasonal employees. The area is currently located on the UC Berkeley Summer Camp Special Use Permit, however the proposal includes removing five acres from the permitted area and creating a Plumas National Forest administrative site on which to build a barracks. The project would demolish a current substandard building and replace it with a new Region 5 standards barracks building, which would meet accessibility requirements. The construction area would be approximately 0.25 acres limited to the area directly around the building location and encompass a new septic field and well.

This comment period is intended to provide those interested or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. The decision will not be subject to appeal.

We would appreciate receiving your input by April 27, 2011. Your input should be forwarded to the District Ranger, Mt. Hough Ranger District, 39696 Highway 70, Quincy, CA 95971, (530) 283-0555. Input may be (1) mailed; (2) hand delivered between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays; (3) faxed to (530) 283-1821; or (4) electronically mailed to comments-pacificsouthwest-plumas-mthough@fs.fed.us.
