Timber harvesting plan
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON DOMESTIC WATER SUPPLIES
A Timber Harvesting Plan (THP) will be submitted to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) within Sections 3,4,5,9,10,11,14,15,T24N,R10E, MDB&M. The proposed THP is located approximately 2.5 miles north and east of Quincy, Plumas County. This notice is to request information about domestic water supplies from Class I, II, and IV watercourses that receive drainage from the THP area and are within 1000 feet downstream of the THP boundary. Watercourses that may be affected include Sockum Creek, Taylor Creek and unnamed tributaries. Abandoned Mine Closures
The District Ranger of the Mt. Hough Ranger District is seeking public input on closing three abandoned mine adits on two mine sites on the Mt. Hough Ranger District. Two adits are located at the Shenandoah Mine, legal location T25N, R7E, NE 1/4 of Section 28. The Shenandoah Mine is located within the Bucks Lake Wilderness, above the town of Rich Bar. The other adit slated for closure is the Old Jura Mine, legal location T25N, R7E, NE 1/4 of Section 19. This mine is located .5 miles northeast of the town of Belden.
Mine closure will provide for public safety in these areas. Bat gates would be installed to provide continuing bat habitat at sites where needed. Culverts will be installed at sites where water is present to maintain current flow out of the adits and support existing riparian vegetation. Openings around the culverts would be sealed with an application of polyurethane foam and covered with dirt and rocks to mimic the natural surroundings.
This comment period is intended to provide those interested or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. This decision is not subject to appeal.

Environmental Alternatives (EA) is soliciting bids from California Licensed "B" Contractors who are in good standing with the CSLB, for the Rehab of 2 structures located at 2019 and 2021 Pine St. in Quincy, Ca. This project is funded with State of California EHAPCD funds and requires the payment of "prevailing wages" and adherence to other State mandated conditions regarding bonds and contracts.
Interested contractors can contact EA at their local office, 455 W. Main St. in Quincy, Ca. 95971, (530) 283-3330. Bid packets will be available for pick-up at that location. Bids are due on Wednesday June 8 at 3 p.m. A public opening of competitive bids will occur at that time. In addition, a mandatory orientation and jobsite walk-through will occur on Wednesday, June 1 at 3 p.m.
