THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEVADA AND IN THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN.
The Nevada Fire Safe Council is soliciting quotes for the following project work related to completion of hazardous fuel removal and wildfire threat reduction for at-risk communities across the state of Nevada. Quotes received will apply for projects during the period from July 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. Work will be completed in accord with legal requirements and fuel reduction prescriptions developed by fire professionals. The deadline for quote submission is 5:00 P.M. (PST), June 30, 2011. Quotes must be submitted to the Fire Safe Council, P.O. Box 2724, Carson City, NV, 89702. Submission forms and more details are available at www.nvfsc.org or by calling (775) 884-4455. Quotes are solicited for specific project needs as follows:
1) Hand crews and accompanying equipment.
2) Mechanical treatment including mastication and/or whole tree removal.
3) Chipping and/or tub grinding of accumulated fuels.
4) Loading and transport of chipped or ground material.
5) Application of pre-emergent herbicide.
6) Qualified foresters for fuels reduction project design.
7) Reviews, surveys, and reports to ensure the identification and protection of threatened or endangered animal and plant species.
8) Reviews, surveys, and reports to ensure the identification and protection of historically important sites and artifacts.
Please include a Certificate of Liability Insurance and a W-9 with any application solicitation forms.
The Nevada Fire Safe Council will issue purchase orders for work based on quotes received and contractor capability as described on the quote submission form. Contractors who respond to this solicitation will be given preference in developing and issuing project purchase orders. Lake Davis Kiosk
The Forest Service, Plumas National Forest, Beckwourth Ranger District, is preparing an Environmental Assessment for the Lake Davis Kiosk Project. This proposal would improve the Lake Davis Kiosk by remodeling the building to a picnic area and installing a new accessible vault toilet. Lake Davis is located in T.23N., R.13E., Section 1, in Management Area 37 (Lake Davis).
Public Opportunity to Comment: Pursuant to 36 CFR 215.5, the public has the opportunity to provide written or oral comments on the proposed action. All comments must be received no later than 30 days following the date of publication of this legal notice in the Portola Reporter newspaper, Portola, CA.
To maintain appeal eligibility, those providing comments must meet the following criteria; (1) comments must be timely and substantive, (36 CFR 215.2); (2) comments must be signed (or identity verified upon request) by the individual or representative of the organization submitting the comments; and (3) comments must contain the information listed in 3 CFR 215.6(a)(3).
