Two afternoon performances and two evening performances of the motion picture Ah, Wilderness! starring Lionel Barrymore will signal the grand opening of Quincy's new motion picture house named the Town Hall Saturday. The 30-foot neon sign was installed earlier in the week.

50 YEARS AGO.......1961

First Western Bank in Greenville will officially open its new bank building this Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new building is located next to the old bank building on Crescent Street, Greenville.



25 YEARS AGO........1986

Dianne Van Hook, Dean of Feather River College resigned on Friday and is taking a position at Lake Tahoe Community College.

Advanced ticket sales are on sale for upcoming Plumas County Fair events to be held in the grandstands. The itinerary includes: Battle of the Bands on Thursday night, The Favero Sisters and Stew Stewart on Friday night, the Rodeo on Saturday and stock car races on Sunday night. All shows are $5.00 admission.



10 YEARS AGO.......2010

Bill Hunter, a native of Greenville and a Butte County Sheriff's Deputy was killed in the line of duty July 26 in a shoot out in the remote town of Inskip, an unincorporated area in Butte County.

After 21 years of service, Jesse Wellenbrock of Chester, one of the founding directors of Plumas Bank, has retired from the board of directors of the bank.
