200 acres of timber was destroyed in Genesee Friday, also leveling a barn and a chicken house on the V. Marley Ranch. The fire is believed to be caused by spontaneous combustion. The fire caused a timber loss of $2,500.

Delegations from both the Plumas County Historical Society and the Butte County Historical Society, totaling some 175 people, met Sunday at Rich Bar in the Feather River Canyon at the monument dedicated to Dame Shirley for a joint meeting.
Plumas County's tax rate was set for $.01507 per $100.00 assessed valuation at this weeks Plumas County Board of Supervisors meeting.
