Of the 18 national forests in California the Plumas National Forest has the worst fire record in the state of California this year with a total of eight fires during the past week alone. The total this year now stands at 116 in the Plumas National Forest. Of the 116 fires, 98 were started by campers.

An early morning blaze burned a cabin directly behind the Camp Prattville Store and Cafe and damaged the cafe as flames entered the attic of the historic West Lake Almanor building.
