update on casa programs

Ann Krinsky, the program manager for the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, wants to pass along that both Good Vibrations in Chester and Epilog Books in Quincy are carrying CASA kids studio jewelry. It’s handcrafted jewelry featuring polymer clay beads of cute kid faces and best of all, 90 percent of the proceeds support CASA programs. She also mentioned that each Tuesday restaurants throughout the county host a coffee meeting where folks can drop in and discuss how they might help abused and neglected children in Plumas County. The first Tuesday is at Anna’s Cafe, Greenville; second: Coffee Tree Express, Portola; third: Alley Cat, Quincy; and the fourth Tuesday they gather at Main Street Coffee Bar in Chester.

hats off to these BUSINESSES…

One of Quincy’s best-kept secrets, The Feather Bed, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Innkeeper Bob Janowski said his mission is “To provide a respite for the weary traveler away from the chaos and tension of normal daily living.” Bob also said they often hear and see many times that folks walk by but have never stopped in to visit this lovely inn. So Bob wants us to pass along to his neighbors and friends to feel free to come in and join Bob and his staff this month as they celebrate their 20th!

Also celebrating the milestone 20th anniversary is Margie Meeker at Country Style Family Hair Care in Greenville. With Halloween just around the corner, or any other special occasion for that matter, we’ll remind you about their vast array of costumes and accessories.
