Golf report for the week of 11/9/2011
Graeagle Meadows Golf
Another great golf season is about over. Some of the players have already started their seasonal migration south to warmer tees, fairways and greens. Those staying to guard the grounds are a hardy lot; they will have time to clean and polish their toys for next season. In addition, plans are already in the making to escape from the coming snows. So if interested in taking short golf outings keep in close contact with your players.
This season has been a truly fun and busy year even after a slow and cold start. There was one fabulous tournament after another with most every player winning some position in one tournament or another. The club hosted approximately 24 tournaments over a six-month period and most all events were very well-attended.
The enjoyable golf season was made possible as a result of the continual hard work of the golf course maintenance staff headed up by Scott Kotrc, the fully stocked pro shop by PGA pro Bob Klein and the delicious food and cold drinks from the restaurant staff lead by Jennifer Engel.
The final golf event for the season was the Cross Country Tournament that allows grown men and ladies to have a fun and exciting day by playing from different tee locations to completely different hole locations — like we did when we were all much younger.
So it’s time to give our clubs and our bodies a chance to get some rest and recovery from hard work, to spend some quality time with our families and, most important of all, plan for next year’s golf season. For members of the Men’s Golf Club: please check the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association website for the 2012 tournament schedule, to be posted by the end of this year. So to all, “Rest Hard” and hope to see you next season.
