Of the three football teams from Plumas County competing in the first
round of the Division IV playoffs Thursday night, Nov. 10, Portola
High School advanced to the semifinals, while Chester and Quincy were
Portola, seeded fifth, went on the road and knocked off fourth-seeded
Maxwell by a score of 33-21. The Portola Tigers now face top-seeded
Hamilton in the semifinals Friday, Nov. 18.
Chester, the No. 2 seed, fell 40-27 to seventh-seeded Fall River.
Quincy, seeded sixth, lost to third-seeded Modoc, 27-6.
