He recently decided the demand warranted going full-time with the business, serving residential, commercial, and new construction customers throughout Plumas County. Milwood Lakeside Nursery on Peninsula Drive at Lake Almanorhas opened for the season with all sorts of new, fun items for spring, including some decorative flags, sun catchers and wind chimes. They also have a nice selection of garden furniture and many new gift items. The nursery is owned and operated by Sam and Patti Glass, who also have a nursery in Susanville.

James and Stacy Huffmon will be celebrating their second anniversary in style at the Main Street Sports Bar & Lounge in Quincy Saturday, May 12.Festivities will begin with the kick-off of their new summer wine tasting series from 1 to 4 p.m., which will be held every Saturday through Labor Day weekend. Later that evening an acoustic trio featuring Andrew Ohren will be entertaining from 6 to 9 p.m. followed by The Rockers performing classic rock and blues on the main stage from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Pam Ayoob is starting her second year at Plumas Pines Rec Center at Plumas Pines Resort in Blairsden as it opens for the season in May and continues through October. She said it is exciting to provide a facility like this for people to visit, adding that it is also a good “time out for the local worker bees!” Pam said their customized spa parties were a definite hit last season, ideal for wedding preparation, reunions or “ just because.”
